Wassup | L License

~STRESS~STRESS~STRESS~

Just got back from my driving lesson *yes. . . I'm learning again* Don't get me wrong now. I got my driving lesson after my Form 5. And how do you say it??? *_* It was framed on the wall for erm. . . * I can't recall how many years* Paiseh lah...

The first few times was driving in my housing area. Today we went to the "BIG" road. Meaning more cars! ARGHHHH!!! I was so stress out! *pls stop laughing* My dad was coaching me and I know he must be disappointed at my performance. Sigh...

So, people! PRAY HARD, HARD for me... I want to drive!!!

Silver Screen | 2 Movies in 2 days

Finally made some time to hit the cinema. First choice ~ Bangkok Dangerous. To see my Nicolas Cage in action. It was a cool movie ~ I'm not sure if it's just because Nicolas was in it. Hehe!

Joe, is a hitman ~ a real cool one! He lives within his 4 rules. . .
  • Don't ask questions
  • There is no right and wrong
  • Do not an any interest in people outside of work
  • Know when to get out
But I felt that the ending is not that good. It could be done better. It's like why did he did that?

Anyway, talking back to the movie... He has 4 jobs in Bangkok *thus the name Bangkok Dangerous, duh!* He's done the first 3 jobs effortlessly. And he even taken in 1 student *he's kinda cute too* But the 4th job is to kill a politician, which was not part of the contract. And that is when the boss wants to shut him up. As they said ~ nothing is more deadlier than a hitman hitting back. Love interest? Yes! Charlie Young. She's deaf in this movie. Too bad ehh. . .
*****

Next in line ~ Max Payne. Heard that it was not a good movie. But still I went to see it coz the name Max Payne. Gamers should know this better. I didn't played it but I knew about the game. It's like those CS games. Neh. . . Shoot here and there gar...

Mark Wahlberg done a good job in portraying Max. But the storyline itself wasn't something to be proud of. It did have some game elements in it ~ nice graphics, good choreography. But something is still missing.

Max is a cop stationed at the Cold Case Dept ~ for those unsolved cases. There's a reason to it. His wife and baby was killed and the killer was never found. Chasing shadows for 3 years still did not give him any leads. At the end, he couldn't believe that the person that he trusted the most was the killer. Short and simple. . .

Conclusion ~ I choose Bangkok Dangerous over Max Payne. Sorry, Max!

Wassup | BBQ Reunion

Since it's Deepavali this week, we all had a BBQ reunion @ Ah Bu's place. It's actually a de-stress session for those who needed it. Hahaha! I know lot's been going on there but guys, keep a cool head ya?

I was in charge of the chicken wings which I've carefully prepare at the wee hours of Sunday morning. Why so late? Let me tell you...

Rushed to Tesco Damansara to get wings and the marinate stuff. And SURPRISE! SURPRISE! Tesco Damansara doesn't have any marinate sauces. No BBQ sauce! No Teriyaki sauce! Not even mustard! WTF??!! It was nearly 10pm. How am I going to get the sauces? Then Weng said got Cold Storage mah. "You go there, I pay the chicken wings here" So, i dashed out of Tesco to Ikano! NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! It was closed! *stress~stress* I kept imagining Rachel's voice in my head "HA! Told you to go buy early-early!"

Think~think~think. . .

Jusco Kepong!!! It closes at 11pm. Yeay! Got the sauces. So, now you know why I was massaging the chicken wings at 12am.

And here is the outcome

Attendance was great. The whole bunch of the old gang was there plus the newbies too. It was a blast. Everyone had fun chatting, eating and getting drunk!

da booze

We whacked half bottle of Chivas, nearly full JW, 1 bottle of wine, 3 big bottles of beer and a dash of JD. *hic! hic!*

It all ended around 2am. Not all was still there. Those cowards! Ran back home before the real drinking started. Bong climbed Kelly's automatic gate just to get away! *CHICKEN!!!*

It was real great to have this get together. Really missed you guys. And gals. As Rachel said, it'll be hard to organize this again. Everyone is leaving to here and there. All the best to all of you. Here are some memories. . . *wet eyed*

The big G2DI gang ~ old & new

Databed *database* team ~ YM, Nala, me & Grace

Interactibe *interactive* team ~ Ah Ney, Ah Bu & Ah Bong

The geeky programmer people

Thanks Ah Bu for the place!Thank you auntie too! And thank you all for showing up.

Wassup | Maturity

ma.ture ~ fully developed in body or mind, as a person
Such a complicated word *for me*
  • Is there an indication when you'll get matured? As the indication you'll get when you're childish?

  • Is there a meter to tell you when you're mature or you're still childish?

child.ish ~ marked by or indicating a lack of maturity

If your answer is a big fat YES. Please tell me. Coz I don't seem to have any of those.

Let me give you a scenario - when you get your own place *finally!*, wouldn't you want to stay there? Why? Coz it's yours! Chosen by you *literally*! Paid by you! Plus it's a statement of freedom.

What came into mind ~ age inching to 30 and still live with parents. And BANG!!! You get something like "Is your thinking as mature as a 30 years old? Is your mindset as a 30 years old? Why use this 30 years old excuse (moving out of your parents house) if you have a mindset of a 18 year old?"

Wow! I didn't know I was still that young. . . Does that mean I can't go to Genting Casino anymore? Hahaha!

Or does blogging this make me look like that I'm not acting my age?

Cubicle | Love is in the . . . (pls fill in yourself)

It was my boss 3rd anniversary yesterday! Wohoo!!! She warned us not to panic if there was an earthquake last night O_o If you know what she meant. She does look glowing this morning. *had a GREAT night loh!*
And lookie what she got! Awwwww!!!!

CONGRATULATION BOSS & MR. BOSS!
*****
I really wonder does guys really remember dates? Especially a few years down the road. Ya, ya... Before marriage, everything will remember. But after? Is there any guarantee to it? Or do they purposely choose the easy dates to remember to get married? Or get registered? Anyhow, us females are suckers to flowers and gifts. It's really enough if they remember all the sweet things. Maybe we should have pop-quiz on anniversaries! Just to test them. Am really sure they won't get full marks.

Trippin | Melaka (again?)

Yea that's rite! Melaka again. It was actually a chance for Weng to test his car for long journey. So, we ended up in Melaka with a few friends. True enough, the ride was smooth and surprisingly we didn't even realized that it was running about 130! Hope there won't be any saman knocking on his door.

Before heading to Melaka, I went to get my wheels! Yeay! Nope I didn't drove it back home. My dad did. If i was to drive it, I don't think I can reach home. o_O Then Weng need to visit the doc coz he wasn't feeling himself. I called him lobster *he's so brightly red* Still, the doctor say he's OK. Don't know what kind of doctor but we waited quite long loh. Couldn't resist to kacau this little fellow.

Feeling adventourous, we went to stay at a guest house. You know? Those without TV, air-cond and fridge? And we need to use the bath and toilet which was shared among the guests in the guest house. Wow! First and the last time. It was belonged to Voyage Traveler. It was meant for back-packers ~ not for city-slickers like us. It cost us RM35 per room. So, we can't complain. I still like staying in Hotel Puri.

It looks scarier at night

At night was a bit scary ~ the toilet is downstairs. So before heading to bed, we did all our businesses. Don't really want to walk down alone. Funny thing is there wasn't any mozzie around, which was great. But I didn't really get any sleep there. And I ended back to KL with rashes ~ "fung mok" Itchy and red spots. Arghh!!!

But it's a good place to snap pix! I love the oldness of the place. How I wish I got DSLR. . . I would taken loads more of pix! Here are a few taken with my Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N2.

p/s: just to let you know ~ this place is smacked between a coffin shop and a place where those ceremony takes place *da jai* BUT... nothing scary happened to us. Thank GOD!

Wassup | Happenings

I had an OK week. Been really busy with work ~ trying to be a sponge and absorb as much as I could. *I hope I don't turn yellow and become Spongebob* I tagged along my big boss to a presentation that I've helped in preparing. It was good exposure. I admit I was nervous even though that I'm not the one presenting. But it went on well! Yeay!

And tomorrow I'll be getting my wheels! Yeehar! Excited? Scared? I dunno. It's been a while. . . But I really need the freedom and independence. No more asking people's favours.

Yeap. Still bitter, milder now.

Wassup | Bitter

It's been a while. There's so much happened for the past week. You do realize that some of the posting went missing. Well, there is just something that I don't want to think about. Note to myself ~ me and my big mouth & keep my mouth shut.

I've been trying to think of sweet things but I still bitter inside. And today, a bit sour too. I can't blame anyone except myself on this.

Please save your time on asking me what the he** I'm talking about. I want to leave it all behind. I hope someone will too. I'm sorry that my EQ is not that high.

Konichiwa | Day 5 ~ Disneyland!!!

My dream came true today! DISNEYLAND! I'm so excited!!! Some of the group didn't want to go for the second time. Weng has no choice as he have to accompany me. two families and a few singles join us to Disneyland. If you have a chance to come to Tokyo, you MUST come here! I repeat MUST! By 9.30am we checked out from Grand Palace Hotel and head to my dream land. Hehehe.

The entrance ~ it's Halloween themed

The magnificent castle ~ breathtaking, rite?

See? I'm overwhelmed!

Let's start off with the characters that I met. There was the famous Mickey & Minnie Mouse. *applause* Mickey is a celebrity here. I need to queue for 45 minutes to get a picture with him. Japanese are really nice and obedient people. And very patient. Everyone in the line was happily waiting for their turns, no sighing here and there, complain this and that. Mind you, the sun was really out that day.

Presenting you ~ Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse

Next in line is Donald Duck *clap, clap* I need to squeeze in with everyone to get a pix with him. Luckily I managed to grab his arm and wouldn't let go. Crazy?!

Donald Duck!

And there was Pinnochio and one of the 3 Piglets. One of the Seven Drawfs ~ he's the shy one plus the Cricket. It's very sad actually, those not so popular ones stands around and wave to people while those popular ones get swamped. I did saw Pluto, Cinderella, Snow White, Peter Pan too!

Pinnochio and a Piglet

A drawf & Cricket

I rode on 3 rides ~ The Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean and Big Adventure. Queue was long. There are a few that I need to let go ~ Mickey House and Pooh's Book. Sigh. . . But I manage to go to Minnie House though. . . Did you know that Mickey is in his house to sign autograph? Sigh. . .

The Haunted Mansion ~ nice ride!

Winnie the Pooh's book ~ look at the queue

Disney Tokyo has 2 sides ~ Disneyland and Disneyland Sea. I'm at Disneyland. And it's divided into a few parks. There's Tomorrowland, Toontown, Fantasyland, Critter Country, Westernland and Adventureland. I love Toontown the most ~ all things here are cute! Tomorrowland is all about space and the future. Critter Country and Westernland was not much, just some rides. Adventureland is where Pirates of the Caribbean ride is. But all these parks are well themed. I love em! Here are some snaps for you to drool over.

Halloween is near thus all deco has pumpkins

And obviously I got on a shopping mode. Have to get some Disneyland Tokyo items.

There was parades going on schedule. Cool! I saw 2 parades ~ the day time and the night time. It's totally different. It's not those parade that repeats itself all day long. And to end things off ~ fireworks! Nice. I left Disneyland heavy-heartedly. I really didn't want to leave. But 9.30pm was the time to go. So, I bid farewell to Disneyland Tokyo. And tomorrow will be heading back to KL . . . *so soon?*

Wanna see more? http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/index_e.html

Konichiwa | Day 4 ~ Tsukiji, Akihabara, Asakusa, Shinjuku

I was a but sceptical about going to Tsukuji ~ the fish market. Coz it's a market. But everyone was asking whether we're going or not. Actually to go to the market, we need to be there around 6am! We're not crazy or coz! We went there around 9am and the market was closed for visitor. Ended up walking around there and look for fresh sashimi for lunch. Very fresh! But I can't seem to find those irresistible small octopus! Sigh. . . And the Unagi sushi ~ just melt inside your mouth and makes you go "uhhhhhh" I'm not sure how much it all cost, THANKS FOR LUNCH YA!

To Tsukiji Market
Fresh sushi ~ one of the people here witness a life prawn on sushi

Window shopping for "hoi mei"

Next stop ~ Akihabara, the gadgets street. You can get cheap gadgets from the cute iPod to my dream ~ DSLR Nikon camera. I'm so tempted to buy it but scared about the warranty of it. So, no choice lah. We thought of just spending an hour here but ended up 3 hours here! You know why? Coz we went to "luk kai dan" ~ those machines that rolls out eggs with cute stuff in it. There is this departmental store . . . . . . , has at least 10 floors! There was 600 "egg" machines at the 6th floor. But as we stopped on every floor to see stuff. Me and Weng got ourselves cool headphones that's considered cheap compared to Malaysia.

Cool? 1,980 yen each

And about the "eggs", I got myself a total of 5 eggs! Varying from 200-300 yen. It was nice! See?

The eggs

The machines

Besides gadgets, anime lovers would love it here. There's a lot of anime stores but we found 1 only. No time! Must save time coz we're meeting Kenji-san in Shinjuku for dinner and drink! And he promised us to bring somewhere special. *wink~wink*

Nice figures

Trying mu luck on the "kiap" dolls machine ~ I did'nt get it

Quickly made our way to Akasuka ~ "lei men". This was where we wanted to go. Weng came here before ~ so, it was just me wanting to come here. Actually it's a temple with rows of stall before reaching it. Bought biscuits and key chains here. There's nothing much here except for the big lanterns here. Hehe.

Big lanterns

There was about 1 hour left and we're rushing to Shinjuku. And we got lost in transaction. *paiseh* We need to change train lines and ended up stuck in between stations because of the different company (like when you buy Putra LRT ticket and you can board a Star LRT). But the stations are connected. It was confusing! Me and Weng "gan jeung" and was 1/2 hour late! Then finally got to Shinjuku but we're at the wrong exit! OMG! We walked around and finally found Takashimaya. In mind, we're thinking Kenji might have went home. But he was there waiting for us ~ laughing. He said it's either we're lost in transaction or lost in time. *we're 45 minutes late* SORRY KENJI!

Enough of rushing around. We made a pit-stop for desserts. Had Japanese crepe. And a cute cheese cake. Expensive woh for such a small cake. It was nice! The thing is ~ Japanese do everything using the best ingredients, use all their efforts. No cincai-cincai stuff.
You want to try?

Stuffing our faces, we have no more space for dinner ~ for now. Kenji took us to a place called Tokyo Metropolitan Government No. 2 Building. It was a long walk, especially in my boots and dress (it was windy~cold) But seeing Tokyo night view was priceless. It was worth coming here. Plus, it's FREE!!! There's a restaurant there and I assume it will cost quite a pinch. We can get some souvenirs here too as there is a store here. Or maybe just enjoy the view . . . Ahhhhh . . . . .

Tokyo night

Feeling the hunger bug strikes again, we head to "gwei jau uk" it's like a bar/cafe. This is where most Japanese come to chill-out after work. So, can see a lot of Japanese with suits drinking beer or sake and chatting away. Weng tried the Unagi rice and we're speechless. *burp!* Kenji ordered some other small dishes which was equally delicious.

Unagi rice
Sake?

McD @ Tokyo

Bidding goodbye to Kenji, we headed back to our hotel. But as always we need to try out McD! There was this happy meal that I wanted *giving out Chibi Maruko* but when I paid and get the nuggets, he said it was for tomorrow. Aiyah! It was already 11.40pm but I don't know how to speak Japs, so no Chibi Maruko. Sigh....

Next step ~ soak feet, bath, sleep & GET READY FOR DISNEYLAND, TOKYO!

~end day 4~
