Silver Screen | Red Cliff

To be frank, I'm not a fan of historical movies. But according to Weng, this is not a movie on history. Yes, the people in the movie does exist but the story was a fiction. It was a lengthy movie - 2 1/2 hours! And it's not over yet. There will be the second part - The Great War. Let's not get into that first, ya...

One thing I have to say it was COOL! Very 'yeng'! This story is similar to Three Kingdoms: Resurrection of the Dragon ~ http://nicolensm.blogspot.com/2008/04/silver-screen-three-kingdoms.html

But having Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro makes a lot of difference! I shall not talk much on the storyline. Those fanatics should know it best and I don't want them to be frantic when I told the wrong story.

Let's have a round of applause for the casts!

Tony Leung ~ Zhou Yu

Takeshi Kaneshiro ~ Zhu Ge Liang

Zhang Zhen ~ Sun Quan

Zhao Wei ~ Sun Shang Xiang *sister of Sun Quan*

Wassup | Daughtry rocked my night

This was totally last minute. I got a pair of the tickets from a colleague on Friday evening. He asked "You know who is Chris Daughtry?" And the rest was history. *p/s: OF COURSE I KNOW WHO IS CHRIS DAUGHTRY*

Thanks VS! For these tix!

I nearly didn't made it coz Weng was at work. *Boo Hoo!*

But HEY, he called me at 7pm and asked whether I still wanna go. YEAY! We made it there around 8pm, Looked for car park space till 9pm!!! Imagine that. I was losing hope and was thinking of leaving 1Utama. Thank god! Finally found a space. Grabbed a quick dinner and headed to Central Park Avenue. After asking around, we got to know that Daughtry will only be up at 10pm. WE MADE IT! Yeah. He was late for about an hour. But he sang for us for 1 solid hour too! I lost count of how many songs he sang coz I was so engrossed into it!

Security was tight. So, I didn't manage to smuggle my camera in. Have to make use what I have, which is my W580i. I wish I was using my W800i. Better camera mah. So, bear with me with these pix.
Daughtry! Daughtry! Daughtry!
*chanting*

All hyped up!

Look at the crowd!

Cubicle | liar! liar! @** on fire

I knew there was something fishy going on. The promise made was not fulfilled. No wonder they are stuffing us with free breakfast and free movies. They feel sorry? They feel responsible? NOOOO!!! It's a way to make their small, cold heart feels better.

Things to close up people's mouth?

Making people hoping and hoping. But it's just another false hope. One might say, it's there ~ it's just that it's stuck at the top management side. Next month, for sure next month! And they'll be back-dated *for 3 months* Do you honestly think that they will give it in 1 lump sum? NOOOO!!! They'll pull up the margin. Meaning the lump sum will be given monthly.

I'm truly demotivated, depressed, annoyed, etc *anything that you can think of!*

Adding to that hole, some people think that a phone call is too much to ask for *even it's pass midnight*

[updated] We all went for a de-stress session of a nice Japs lunch.

Silver Screen | Journey To The Center Of The Earth - 3D

Well, well... I think that I watched this too late. After Dark Knight, this was like ... *know what I mean?*

Nevertheless, it deserve a spot here. The stories goes by a scientist, Trevor (Brendan Fraser) on a quest to search his lost brother using the famous book by Jules Verne. Following him in his quest is his nephew, Sean (Josh Hutcherson) and Hannah ~ the hiking guide. It's a fantasy movie. A beautiful one too! I saw it in 3-D. It was awesome. But since I'm a spec wearer, it wasn't that comfortable. And the 3D spec needs to be returned back. I'm not sure why there is a need to pay extra RM5 to watch it in 3D... Better have GSC to answer for that. There is 1 GSC having the 3D show, Mid Valley ~ Cinema 4.
Overall, OK OK lah.

Silver Screen | The Dark Knight

"the silent guardian, the watchful protector, he's the DARK KNIGHT"

Remember that I told you that Wanted was great? Well, this tops it off! Definitely! A really must see for everyone. No wonder that it broke the preview record at USD18.5mil!!! Beating Star Wars: Episode III which was only USD16.9mil.

I must say that this installation of Batman did reach my expectation. Lot'sa people told me that this is good stuff. And it's worth a second watch. Yes! I'll be watching it again this coming Thursday. ~it's FOC~

Let's get back to the movie ya! As usual, there is no need to introduce the story. But I must praise Heath Ledger for being Joker. He was really good. He should get an Oscar for this. It's sad that he didn't have a chance to see the whole movie. It's a loss that he passed away. A moment of silent for him. May he rest in peace.

Heath Ledger

Move on to Batman aka Bruce Wayne. Hottie Christian Bale takes in the black suit and sizzled with it. With the husky voice he can make you faint in a heart beat.

Christian Bale

After the movie, I was like "WOW!!!". The story-line was unpredictable. Intense. I was like grabbing Weng's hand throughout the movie. Batman and Joker battled a great war. Both of them did a fantastic job of hating each other. Besides Joker as the villain, there is another "face" that you might feel familiar with. I will not ruin the fun,ya... Go see it! Oh yea! It's 2 1/2 hours long. So, remember to buy some munchies and drinks in. ENJOY, PEOPLE!

Wassup | Bridal Shower ~ LING LING

Today is my friend's ~ LING LING ~ bridal shower. Some might ask, "What is that?"
The bridal shower is a wonderful and joyous time and usually the last chance for the bride and her close family and friends to have a warm, intimate and relaxing time together before her marriage. (quoted from http://www.womenrussia.com) a.k.a bachelorette night (in this case is morning @ 10.30am!)

It's a get-together session for the girls. Most of the guests are Ling's church mates. Only me, San, Kit Yeng and Jessie are her secondary school mates. Nevertheless, I had a great time.

Uh! Uh! It was at the apartment suite in Westin KL! Wohoo! At level 13, the view was fab!

Cool, rite?

Some food was prepared by her friends ~ there was the "fruit mountain" and ice-cream by Kit Yeng and bite-sized cupcakes. The cupcakes are real cute from Wondermilk.
Tingling taste

Close up. . . Makes you want to eat it right away

Ice-cream galore

Wondermilk's cupcakes

Delicious!

And there is more! Westin provided us more food! And a bottle of Laurent-Perrier champagne which is at my fridge now. Hehe! They served us finger food. Erm... I don't know what are they called individually. But there was some nice sushi! Kudos to Westin!
Yummy-licious!

Oh! The whole package was FOC! Ling got sponsored by FEMALE mag to be featured in the FEMALE BRIDE mag! *She's making lot'sa bride-to-be crying their eyes out...*

See what she got!!! :p

I must talk about the deco that the girls did. Very, very nice! The feeling sweet, sweet. . .

Wassup | New Ride

One new ride comin' up!
^_^

P/S: It's actually in greyish-blue

Wassup | Jumbled up

The past few weeks was damn tiring. Not just body but mind and soul too. With the job uncertainty till life uncertainty. But one thing for sure, you can't drown all your sorrows by drinking. Having the thought that it will feel better was a myth. Thanks to those TV series!

Thou shall be silent
Thou shall not ask again
Thou shall slap a BIG, FAT smile on thy face

Don't mind me, I'm just exaggerating!
People have ups and downs. I'm just on my down days...

Silver Screen | Hellboy II The Golden Army

Another line-up for the summer movies ~ Hellboy II. Yeap! The big RED ape is back to kick some serious butt.
A more matured RED this time, starting a relationship with Liz. Adding to the team is the 'Gas Bag' aka Johann Krauss. Hoping to lead this so-called secret agents in our world. Not too successful though.

But as usual the bad guy loose. The good guy wins. And the world is save, once again. Bla~Bla~Bla... Nothing hoo-har about this second installation. But the graphics has improved. But if you like to see the red devil with his huge right hand and big gun in action, no harm to watch it :)
Next screening: DARK KNIGHT

Wassup | L [Pt 1]

You wouldn't want to mess with him

Got this little L last week for Weng. He was hinting that his new office didn't have anything. Well, this would look nice on this new table. Hope that his colleagues don't play with it. Or else, they will end up in the death note book. ~muahahaha~

I couldn't resist to snap a few more. He's cool!!! Deep in thoughts

What do you mean you can't make it?!

Hmmm...

What are you staring at?!

Weng, hope you liked it...

Cubicle | On 2 days training

Purely no work for 2 solid days! ~Yeay!~

I was sent to a 2 days training at Sime Darby Convention Centre @ Bukit Kiara. "Train what?", you may ask. Brought to you by numoment is the EXECUTIVE PRESENCE. The training was fun and I really laughed a lot. Needed some laughter so much nowadays. Trainer, Zain was cool. I went to his SHINE training last year too. Those who haven't done SHINE before, you should try.
My black box

After the first day, I got to know that I'm in the Carebear team aka the supporting team. Known to be accepting, co-operative and friendly. Our team also feels that we are fickle-minded, easy going, easily amused, fun to be with, etc. *carebear! share!*

Oh yeah! I also falls into the visual people. I like to have visuals to present stuff. Overall, I learn quite a bit here about my communication skills and the way to communicate with different people.

Uh! Uh! And I must say I liked the lunch that was served at the Halia Restaurant here. Loved the smoked salmon! Yummy!

My favourite smoked salmon

Silver Screen | Hancock

For 1 and 1/2 hour. . . It's quite a short and simple movie. I would prefer Wanted than this. But I like Will Smith lah. There is the beautiful Charlize Theron.

John Hancock is a hero that people love and hate. He's an alcoholic, he destroys properties, he has no respect to others. And the list can go on and on. Yeah... He helps people in need but... making people angry too.

Actually, he's very pitiful. He can't remember who is he. How did he existed. After he saved a guy, Ray ~ he's a PR consultant, Hancock was groomed to be a lovable hero. And there is something going on between Hancock and Ray's wife, Mary. Technically, they are a couple. Do I see more question marks around your head?

Overall, it's a good laugh. Too short for me, though.

Hunting 4 Food | Jarrod & Rawlins

Celebrated Weng's birthday with a simple dinner in a restaurant at Damansara Heights. Jarrod & Rawlins is the name. It's actually a bungalow turned restaurant thingy.

The food was OK only. I mean for the dining, upstairs. They have a bar ~ serving different food. I was told that the smoked salmon is good. But since we're dining upstairs, we cannot order it. Does that make any sense? =="

So, we ordered some porky stuff. Not too much choice to order though. I think this place is better for happy hour drinking. There's a lot of choices of drinks, liquor, beer, etc. For the food, I don't think so.

It not what you think ya :) ~ It's called Cumberland Pork Sausage

This is quite a big portion ~ Crispy Pork Knuckle *exactly like char siew*

Cubicle | Tea-time Commercial

It's 3.30pm on a sunny Wednesday, in our cubicle ~~~ Let me present you our little commercial!

The stripy jacket looks familiar?
